Well, first things first, I’m the new guy. You can call me Lawls. Now I bet you are all wondering why I am here. Well it all started twenty odd years ago, in a small town in Arkansas… Actually let’s just stick with the essentials for now. Read more »

A SHINING FIGURE OF MANLINESS AND HONOR APPEARS!

What’s up, people?

As I’m sure this blog’s adoring fan already knows, everyone’s favorite swordmaster, Neo, is going to discontinue his blogs here at the Otaku Theatre. Don’t worry, you can still enjoy his particular flavor of snark at the Otaku Arcade every few weeks. But from here on out I’ll be taking his slot here. Read more »

I’m that guy you don’t know yet

Hello there, my good old bored individual. Or group of bored individuals, all of whom are reading a blog at the same time at the same computer. Why would you do that by the way? It’s a bit weird isn’t it? I’m sure the person who linked here had good intentions at the start, but are you seriously going to get your friends to sit there and read this at the same time? It’s a bit uncomfortable to be frank. Just give them the link and let them forget about it, then finding it in their bookmarks a few months later and reading it, then try to strike up a conversation with you about articles from a few months ago when you’ve gotten to the hipster mode of it all like everyone else.

But I digress.

I am Sadistic Plebeian and I live in the internet, feel free to call me Pleb. I have a masters in anime douchery, received for my five long years of study into Japanese Animation, turning in to an obsession and becoming a true Hipster Dickbag.

I’m also on The Otaku 2.0’s forum as Arc, the level 80 Admin of Silly Hats. That’s right, we have a forum, come dick about with us sometime if you haven’t already. We enjoy a good dicking.

The anime that I am fond of will be detailed over time in this blog, as well as those that I do not. My first anime experience was with Ghost in the Shell at the age of 8 due to bad parenting, but I love my dad for it all the same. Generally, I’m genre-savvy as long as the works is interesting (either the good kind or not), but my Anime-Planet tells me my least favourite genres are magical girls, harem and ecchi. Huh. Somehow hasn’t stopped me from watching them though. HA!

Anyway, I’ll be here every once in a while to fill your lives with me and my views and you will accept them and be mildly entertained that JoJo managed to get me to write shit for you lucky Mentlegen.

See you dorks, got to go write up an introduction now for the game blog. If you’re interested, why don’t you stalk the shit out of me? I’m going to the bathroom first though you faggin’ voyeurs.

My opinions are not your opinions.

I find Cowboy Bebop to be vastly overrated. I would not even call it great. Good, but far from great.

Given your furrowed brow, foaming mouth and that hideous glare I’m sure you hate me already? Good, that’s a step we need to take in order for our relationship to work. It’s a hurdle that needs to have been crossed and I’m glad we could go ahead and leap over it.

Here’s how it’s gonna go down. I’m going to be posting some blog type things in this particular area. My critical eye will glance over most of the drek that is put out these days and scoff at it and point you in the direction of how things should be done properly. Oh, and just so the oldy folgy things don’t feel left out, I’ll also be looking backwards so as to give the past a bit of a taste of my particular brand of love.

I am the swordmasterneo…huh…don’t quite like how that looks like backwards…I am neoswordmaster and I shall be serving you today.

Since this must be done, here is a plug to our forum. Because it’s awesome and JoJo totally isn’t forcing me to say this. http://theotaku2.50.forumer.com/

Well hello there, otakus and gamers alike! If you’ve stumbled upon here looking for discussions about various games and anime, you’ve come to the right place. I’ll be one of the people covering the anime and manga portion of this here blog, so I look forward to working with everyone and providing some good wholesome rants, raves and other such things on anime series, OVAs and movies. I go by the name of Eka (pronounced however you want), a mecha fangirl who hails from the forum website this was created from.

Now that that’s out of the way, ‘guess I’ll introduce some basic stuff about me as well as what you lovely people will be seeing normally on my contributions to the blog.

I mindlessly watched anime at a young age on good ol’ Channel 27 of YTV (Canadian blogger here, eh?) but not a whole lot. I’ve always been really taken with animated works, but back then I never really distinguished a difference between ‘Digimon’ and ‘Justice League’. It was around 3 – 4 years ago that I officially got interested in anime, when I found the ‘Bionix’ TV timeslot on YTV solely dedicated to Japanese animation. I took an interest to ‘InuYasha’, ‘Full Metal Alchemist’ and a bit of ‘Gundam Seed Destiny’, but the show which got me indefinitely loving anime (and which remains to be my favourite show to this day) is ‘Eureka seveN.’ Other favourites of mine include ‘Durarara!!’, ‘Wolf’s Rain’, ‘Trigun’, ‘The Vision of EscaFlowne’, ‘School Rumble’ and the ‘CLANNAD’ animated franchise.

I started reading manga at around the same time as I was introduced to Bionix, and a few of my favourite manga include ‘Fruits Basket’, ‘Twinkle Stars’, ‘Deadman Wonderland’, ‘Full Moon o Sagashite’ and ‘Yozakura Quartet.’ I watch more anime than I read manga, but I hope to talk about some manga series here every so often.

For this blog, I will often talk about mecha shows as well as any Studio BONES works; from rants and raves to honest quips and comments. I also will have a section which will point out and discuss one of animation’s most entertaining flaws, and that is “quality animation.”

     Prepare yourself for the Derpfest.

That about sums it up! Thanks for stopping by, and remember: the next time you walk outside and happen to see either a fleet of ships shooting up into space, robotic armies torching a town or alien lifeforms planning on wiping out humanity,

don’t forget your giant robot (and bring a Rush album along for the ride. You’re going to need some good theme music).

Get back, JoJo.

Oh hai Internet. If you’re reading this, odds are, you’re on The Otaku’s blog, so welcome to our humble abode. I don’t know if you’re here because you’re already a member of The Otaku 2.0, or for whatever other reason, so for those of you who don’t already know me, I’m Johan Joestar, although I go by Lind_L_Tailor on the forum. I’m the founder-ish (don’t ask, it’s complicated) of The Otaku 2.0, and the ringleader of this particular project.

I’ve been an anime fan for about 5 years now, barring a few anime seen at a young age. I’d say the first particularly good anime I ever saw was Outlaw Star, when I was about 12, and I was gotten into anime proper upon being introduced to Love Hina (shut up, I was 14). I was sort of a casual fan for a few years, until I read Death Note a few years ago, which got me quite addicted. I promptly consumed whatever I could, until I happened upon a particular manga series called 20th Century Boys, which pretty much completely changed the way I viewed anime and manga. I promptly read all 24 volumes in three days. Check it out if you can. Or even if you can’t. I don’t care how, just do it.

My favourite anime is Legend of the Galactic Heroes, and my favourite manga is Vinland Saga. I’m also a big fan of Monster, 20th Century Boys (you may have worked that part out already), Cowboy Bebop, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, The Tatami Galaxy, Honey and Clover, Revolutionary Girl Utena, and pretty much everything by Satoshi Kon, just to name a few. My pet peeves in anime and manga are generic modern battle shonens, sappy psuedoemotional crap that tries to win you over with one-dimensional characters and overdone visuals, and Kuroshitsuji fangirls.

If you think I’m a pretty cool guy and would like to hang around me some more (and why wouldn’t you?), why not join us in the forum?

Please. We’re desperate.
